GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS – THE JOURNEY OF KI

Owner/Service Provider: The Journey of Ki, owned by Doreen McCurdy, based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 81754299.

Applicability: These General Terms & Conditions apply to all yoga sessions, workshops, courses, retreats, and other holistic programs organized by The Journey of Ki (“Services”).

1. DEFINITIONS

Service Provider: The Journey of Ki, as described above. Client/Participant: The person participating in a service organized by The Journey of Ki. Service/Program: Yoga sessions, workshops, courses, retreats, or other holistic activities organized by The Journey of Ki. Event: A specific service or program for which registration is made. Registration Form: The form used by theparticipant to register for a service or event. Deposit/Price: The amount payable by the participant as stated in the registration form or on the website.

2. APPLICABILITY

These terms apply to all services offered by The Journey of Ki. By booking or requesting a service, the participant agrees to these General Terms & Conditions. The Journey of Ki reserves the right to amend these terms; the latest version always applies.

3. REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT

Participation in a service takes place after completing the registration form and paying either the deposit or the full amount. Confirmation of participation will be sent by email once the (deposit) payment has been received

The remaining balance must be paid in full no later than 90 days before the start of the service or event.

For bookings made less than 90 days before the start date, the full amount is due immediately upon booking, unless otherwise agreed.

If the remaining balance is not paid on time, The Journey of Ki reserves the right to refuse participation, without releasing the participant from their payment obligation.

The standard deposit is €300, unless stated otherwise. This deposit secures your place and is non-refundable under any circumstances, regardless of the timing of cancellation or any changes to the original booking. In the case of full payment, the deposit portion of €300 remains non-refundable in all cases.

Participation may be transferred to another person upon request, provided this is arranged and confirmed by email in advance with The Journey of Ki.

3.1 ADDITIONAL TERMS FOR HALF-DAY / ONE-DAY RETREATS / Workshops

Voor half-day en one-day retreats geldt betaling in één keer bij boeking.
Restitutie is niet mogelijk, ongeacht de reden van annulering.

Participation may be transferred to another person upon request, provided this is arranged and confirmed by email in advance with The Journey of Ki.

4. CANCELLATION

Cancellations must always be submitted in writing via email.

The following terms apply:

• Cancellation from 90 days before the start → 75% of the total amount is due.
• Cancellation from 45 days before the start → 100% of the total amount is due.

Participation may be transferred to another person free of charge, provided this is arranged and confirmed in advance by email with The Journey of Ki.

The Journey of Ki reserves the right to cancel a service or event for valid reasons (such as insufficient participants, illness of the teacher, or force majeure). In such cases, an alternative date will be offered, or any payments already made will be refunded.

5. Unforeseen Circumstances & Force Majeure

If a service or retreat cannot take place due to circumstances beyond the control of The Journey of Ki (such as government measures, teacher illness, natural disasters, or other unforeseen events), participants may choose from:

• Participation on an alternative date (subject to availability)
• Participation in an alternative program of equal value
• A credit or voucher valid for a future service
• Refund of any payments already made (if none of the above options are suitable)

The Journey of Ki strives to inform participants in a timely manner and to find a suitable solution together.

6. Program & Location

The program and location are listed on the website. The Journey of Ki reserves the right to make changes if necessary, with timely communication to the participant.

7. LIABILITY AND PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

Participation in any service or event is entirely at your own risk. The Journey of Ki is not liable for any bodily injury, loss, or damage to personal property. Participants are required to inform The Journey of Ki of any physical complaints, injuries, or pregnancy prior to participation. Instructions provided by teachers or facilitators must be followed at all times.

8. Medical Disclaimer

Yoga, meditation, and other activities are intended as recreational and holistic practices and do not replace medical treatment or therapy. Participants agree to waive any claims against The Journey of Ki and its staff for any injury or damage incurred during participation.

9. Health Declaration

I, [Participant Name], declare that I have informed The Journey of Ki of any relevant physical or psychological conditions and any medications I am taking. I understand that participation in the program is at my own risk. By registering and paying the deposit or full amount, I agree to this health declaration. I confirm that I am physically and mentally capable of participating in the activities. Incomplete or inaccurate information may result in exclusion from participation without entitlement to a refund.

10. Personal Data

Personal data is collected and used for administration, communication, and the provision of services. Data will not be shared with third parties without consent. Participants can request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data.

11. Conduct and Damage

Participants are expected to treat The Journey of Ki, its team, and other participants with respect. In cases of misconduct (e.g., drugs, excessive alcohol use, aggression, unwanted advances, vandalism, theft), participants may be excluded from participation without refund. Damage to materials or locations will be charged to the person responsible.

12. Copyright

All course materials, workshops, and online content are intended for personal use only. Materials may not be reproduced, publicly shared, or used commercially without written permission from The Journey of Ki.

13. Applicable Law and Disputes

These terms and conditions are governed by Dutch law. Complaints regarding the execution of services can be submitted in writing via doreen@thejourneyofki.com The Journey of Ki aims to reach a reasonable solution in consultation with the participant.

14. Photo and Video Material

During services, retreats or events, photos and/or video recordings may be taken by The Journey of Ki for promotional purposes, such as on the website, social media, and other communication channels.

Participants automatically consent to the use of images in which they are identifiable unless they submit a written objection in advance via doreen@thejourneyofki.com

Participants are not allowed to take photos or videos of others during services or events without their explicit permission.

Materials created by participants may only be shared publicly with the consent of all involved and with mention of The Journey of Ki.

By booking or registering for a service, workshop, course, or retreat with The Journey of Ki, participants confirm that they have read, understood, and accept these Terms & Conditions. This also constitutes consent for the use of photos and video recordings as described above, unless a written objection is submitted in advance via email
